Faithful follower

I think that we need to keep in mind the many well intentioned people who are going along with Mr. Camping’s date of May 21. Keep in mind he has been telling people for years to leave the church. Obviously, many of these folks will buy into whatever excuse Mr. Camping comes up with on May 22. Some stuck with him after the last time in 1994. However, there will be many people who will be disgruntled and will have a chance to jump from the strange Covenant/Reformed ship which Family Radio has become.

We believers who hold 100% to the inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures, and who are NOT Covenant or Reformed, and who believe strongly in a plain literal hermeneutic, and thus the future role of Israel, should be especially eager to take these people in. Personally, I am of the “Classic,” or “Normative” Dispensationalist persuasion and hold to the views of Walvoord, Ryrie and Showers. If you want to know what I believe, get Dr. Ryrie’s latest edition of “Dispensationalism Today,” and Dr. Renald Showers book, “There really is a difference.” When I say I am a Dispensationalist, it does not mean I agree with every single thing that everyone says who has the label “Dispensationalist” on their lapel. I am talking about theĀ  principle of the priority of plain literal interpretation of Scripture over that of non-literal intepretation. If you want to know what I believe, stick around faithaloneradio. We will discuss this in depth.

This is the method of the priority of plain interpretation which was popularized by some of the great men of old, such as C.I. Scofield, Darby, L.S. Chafer, John Walvoord, Charles Ryrie, and hundreds of others. Obviously nobody interpreted, or interprets the Bible perfectly, but these men that championed the plain literal interpretation of Scriptures, and the continuing distinction between God’s plan for the Church, and God’s plan for Israel, have laid a solid platform upon which we can accurately understand Scripture today and avoid the errors which Mr. Camping got caught up into.

Let’s turn a bad thing into an opportunity to teach good methods of interpreting the Bible, and help people to avoid getting caught up into dead end movements such as Mr. Camping’s! Instead of clicking our tongues, hitting people on the head with Matt 24:36, and finger pointing, lets focus on cleaning up our own hermeneutics, and work daily to more accurately “dividing the Word of Truth.” No matter how smart we may think we are, and how good we think we are at interpreting Scripture accurately, we all need to work on that, Right? I have to correct faulty interpretations, based upon faulty hermeneutics every day. I hope to be that way until the Lord takes me home. I hope you feel the same way!
